Whats the best thing to do for my kind of hair?!1?

My hair is complex, even for someone of African descent. I am mixed with Asian and Caucasian. I grew out my relaxed hair, now its all natural. However its a mix of wavy and kinky, thick curls but fine strands, shoulder length or more if combed out but then it starts to shrink. I'm trying to avoid relaxing it and as I'm a university student, i need a solution wont take up a lot of time. I'm thinking of locks, or braiding, will that work? And how exactly does a texturizer work- does it straighten or loosen the curls and will it work in my hair?

A texturizer loosens kinky hair to create a wavy look. For example, it will turn a short afro into wavy curls.

Your type of hair can be managed by blowing it out and using a flat iron to straighten it. I recommend using Isoplus oil sheen on each section of hair before you apply the flat iron. You will achieve the look of relaxed hair without using any chemicals.

For best results, visit an African American salon to have it washed and blow dried and maintain it at home with your flat iron.

Good luck!

my niece is black and puerto rican and here hair was very very hard to manage..the curls were too tight...so we put a texturizer and it made her hair much more managable....her hair was still curly but much more looser...try it...its way less chemicals than a relaxer

Get some braids and see how you like it. I have individual braids and I really like them and with individuals you can style them in different ways. It is also a great way to give your hair a break. Keep your braids clean and put olive oil or baby oil on them to keep them from drying out, and see how you like it. You just get up out of bed with braids, put them in a ponytail (or not) and go.
