If you are one of those women who get fed up of being so tall, and really want to play down your height, then there are things you can do to create the impression that you shorter.
Choice of garments: long dresses that create a continual flow from head to toe are to be avoided. You should choose separates and in particular pick tops that are long in length (below the waist) and cover the tops of your legs. These will give the appearance that you legs are shorter than they actually are. Select trousers that have a cuffed appearance round the bottom; this will make the actual length of the trousers seem much shorter. Capri and three-quarter length trousers a can be worn but make sure they fit in the right places on your legs so that you don't look like they are too short for you.
Colours: unlike your tall friends who wish to celebrate their height, you have more scope in terms of the colours you should be wearing to truncate your height. Choose mixtures of dark and light colours, when combining tops and bottoms, and embrace patterns and detail that run across the width of tops. Monochromatic looks should be avoided. Wear belts to provide that dividing line between your top and bottom areas, and divert the eye from left to right even more by introducing horizontal stripes to the outfit if you are feeling brave!
Accessories: it may seem obvious but shoes play a big part in creating height (or not as the case may be). Choose flat heels or mules depending on the occasion. Look for shoes that have detail on the flatter part of the shoe at the front as opposed to the heel.

Tanktops are great along with cute skirts...if your tall then you must have long legs so a skirt will show them off along with the guys staring. Having big hips is no problem,I honestly think big hips are great...they give you detail (you know...curves). Shorts are okay to wear except if you dont have much of a butt...if you have kind of a big butt then shorts are great too but skirts would be better(thats just what I think)!

I am 5'7 too and my hips were larger than most girls my age without being extremely large though. With a skirt/shorts 10-15 cm above my knee I felt best. In general, I tried to avoid things that would stick to my body (hips or breasts), dresses/trousers that were too short or revealing as I didn't feel comfortable having boys stare. A long sweater/blouse/cotton shirt that almost covered my skirt or mid jeans with a belt; "empire" style dresses/tops (short sleeves, with a higher than usual belt line - if not right under your bra then at least 5-10 cms higher than your belt line) made me look slim and sexy. Choose delicate fabric or delicate patterns (small flowers, pink, light blue, white tones) work gradually towards having a tan, try to use "invisible" makeup (use a cleaning method for your pores, apply a face mask, ocasionally treat your face, neck and hands with an oilly vit E capsule, use cucumber, honey, fruit remains and other things available in your house to make little face masks after you cleaned your pores - better ask a specialist the first time; use colours - white/light brown pencils - to create shades on your face enhancing the patterns like a black and white photograph would - ex: use white under your eyebrows to make your eyes look bigger; make sure you blend it in your face cream well), always have clean polished nails, take dancing lessons to learn how to dance and move in a nicer, more elegant way.
In general it's how you wear and treat your clothes and yourself that counts. Grace and moral principles will only add to your natural beauty a final rare touch.
