I want to drastically change my haircolor...should I?

I'm asian with the usual black hair and brown eyes. i'm REALLY sick of it and feel as if there's nothing special to my look. i want to dye my hair light brown with highlights (blonde), lowlights (dark brown), and red. i'm going to go to a hair color specialist so that they know what they are doing and how to color asian hair. i feel like i could be more attractive with this new hair color but i'm still a little hesitant. i'm afraid it would come out looking too fake, or tacky...or WEIRD. i got my idea from tila tequila who is of asian heritage and looks AMAZING with blonde hair. i'm confused and i need HELP!!!

I have seen folks of Asian heritage with light brown hair and I think it looks really nice. I would have to see a picture of the exact color you are talking about, but as long as you don't go TOO light I think it would be fine.

I will say - DON'T over highlight your hair, because sometimes that can turn out odd. That's for anyone, not just Asians. I would suggest doing the initial color with a highlight, and slowly add highlights until you have it how you like, that way you won't regret doing too much color to it.

Do it. I have no idea whether it will look good or not, but you're going to wonder about it until you try it. If it looks great, yay! If it looks awful, well, dye it back to black and you'll be happier with the hair mother nature gave you.

(But remember, not everybody looks at you and sees the same boring hair and black eyes that you see when you look in the mirror. When I was in kindergarten, my mom got to talking to the mother of a Chinese classmate of mine, and it turned out that she was really jealous of my wavy platinum blonde hair, and I was jealous of her straight black hair because it looked so shiny and exotic to me.)
