I have a different sort of look, i wear glasses i'm fairly thin, have auburn hair and asian eyes (due to my father being half french have south korean and my mother being portuguese and german). i know alot about politics and law and am facinated by all of it...but when i meet guys they seem to be intimidated by my opinions or the fact that i know up from down in today's politics. I would hate to dumb myself down for a male but do guys really not like this? i suppose i can tone it down, but i am sure i am in now way pompous or rude. HELP!

Nooo. Dont tone yourself down. Be yourself. If arent yourself youll get into relationships that make you unhappy because you cant express yourself. I for one honestly love intelligent girls. Theres such a huge lack of them these days its kinda depressing. The world needs more like you, so whatever you do dont change. You'll find a cool guy somewhere who digs intelligent girls. i love it when a girl can keep a conversation going and can talk about something they are passionite about that doesnt revolve around the normal pop culture BS. you just have to find a guy who likes the same stuff.
and personally if all you have for me is a body i can get that anywhere and in a couple of years your looks will fade and if you dont have anything going on in your head then i will get bored real quick.

my advice to you would be try to tone it down on the politices.... guys like a girl who can keep a conversation going and depending on how old they are, theycould be interested in politics... i would say, try and talk about other things like current events, if ur both into sports, sports is a good subject...

I really believe that most men are intimidated by intelligent women,mainly becuase they dont want to have thier egoes scarred by a female,I mean really what would his friends think of him(lol).

Some guys just can't handle a smart girl, an those guys aren't the ones you'd want to be with anyway. You want someone that can keep up with your conversations, knows a little about what your talking about.

I think you are getting a little too much confident. There's a lot things to know and you can't be just upto date all the time. My advice would be for you is, don't let other to know that you know that much, just pretend that you don't know anything and listen to their opinions and I can assure you it would be a great experience. I think that most guys really do appreciate an intelligent girl, though they don't like to admit it. Having a dumb girl as a girlfriend may be exciting (as in the girl will most likely not have an opinion about anything), but that will wear off real quick. Most men I know say they like intelligent women, someone they can actually talk to.

Nnever ever ever ever change yourself for some guy or for a relationship. It's not worth it. You'll never be truly happy in a relationship that's based on a lie. Unless you like the idea of pretending to be something you're not for the duration of that relationship.
Anyway...I find that guys seem to like intelligent girls for serious and long term relationships. If you're fairly young, the problem might be that guys your age aren't looking for long term, therefore not looking for intelligent yet.
I think your problem would be solved by meeting guys with similar interests as your own(Politics...). They'd likely appreciate the fact that you can carry on a decent conversation about a topic they also like.

The guy's got to be ready for you, you can't pretend to be someone else and if he'snot prepared to have a relationship with a human being that has an oppinion he's not ready and not worth it. Only thing I'd suggest is tone down the more intimidating things, it's fine to oppose the war, or the fur trade but don't declare your hatred for peanuts with fiery vengeance :-) It's fun to argue in my experience, you get a feeling for a person ,what matters to them, and it's rather sexy to see them get passionate about something. Just don't scare them too quick, they're not all as used to it as me, it's a rare and special woman that has that quality
