Why do people make a generalization about asian people based on the opinion/actions of ONE asian per

why is it that when one asian person acts a certain way, everyone makes the generalization that all asian people act that way? this goes not only for asians but for people of all races of course but it's just so ANNOYING.

people automatically assume that all asian people have small "chinky" eyes and have pale skin and black hair. WHY? because i know lots of asians who look nothing like that and they're still full asian. some of these asians don't even look asian even though they really are.

and why do people think that asians are trying to act "white"? im mean sure, some asians are getting blue contacts but its not like that means they want to be white.

people generalize me alot and I mean alot.

I hear that a growing number of asian women are getting eye surgery to look western but in my opinion(that's pretty sad and pathetic)

but people will be people, full of ignorance, arrogance and pride

The same reason people will think all black people are ghetto or all white people are nerdy, or mexicans work hard. Even on 2007 there are closed minded people and stupid stereotypes.

I know it is sad. People need to learn about other cultures and communities. People here are raised in a way where they only know the stereotypes about a race. It's like people believe that all the women from India wear red dot and are burned for dowry. Or all Asians are bad drivers..

cuz ppl like stupid ralph kramden are ignorant and always judge ppl, un fortunately Y/A has the most stereotypical and RACIST to the maximum ppl........:( im on ur side tho, my asian friends are all kinds of ppl, some look barely asian, some are darker, some light, some even have not totally black hair and its not all straight, and alot of them have more rounded eyes, they all act however they want, and all have theier own style, some prep, some punk, some more hip-hop....so i dont judge ppl, i wouldnt judge u either. :)

Wahh, Wahh, Wahh, Get over it. When I meet one (Ethnicity here) and they act X way and then I meet another and they act the same and then a third does I feel safe in assuming it's a group thing and even if EVERY SINGLE ONE doesn't, Most do.

Stereotypes didn't come from no where they came because the majority of the stereotyped group does fit the stereotype.

i see so many asian people every single day. I've seen good asians and bad ones. There's a good and bad in all races.

i have seen olive skin asians with bigger eyes as well as a pale skin asian with black hair. or pale skin with big eyes and olive with small eyes. short and very tall. (like today. i went to the store and i saw this Asian hottie! he was soooo cute. very, very tall.
