Do Asian, latino and African Am socieites identify as a group?

more so that than white populations? If so, could this be because whites are more physicall diverse (as far as coloring and features go) than other cultures?

I mean, if everyone has black hair and eyes, does this make the 'tribe' more unified than if you mix up blonde, red, brown and black hair color?

Do similar physical traits cause tighter social relationships?

when i was working in bwc in israel - we have more than 85 nations represented. interesting grp dynamics. all americans will flock together - so the africans, asians. and more interesting, within each grp they will hv further grouping - black americans - one grp - white one. africans too - the eastern africans in one and the southerners too. asians r more diverse. indians in one, yellow in another, sgporeans in another. only those from mixed marriages/ancestry seem free to move fr one grp to another and mix well with others. but of course there were lots of interactions among individuals of diff color and more mix marriages/ partnership took place. a good experiment in uniting the world

it sounds like you are from US. and you are definetly white. you think whites are more physically diverse, because you are a member of that group, so you can better distinguish one from another. i'm chinese, when i first came to US, all yall white people look alike and black people looked alike too, really, i had a hard time differentiate one white person from another. i had trouble distinguishing black people too, my parents still have trouble with that. you spoke as if all asians are so similar, and that makes us more unified. that's not true. there are many different ethnicities in asian. chinese is not an ethnicity, neither is japenese, nor vietnamese. they are nationalities. instead, Han, Miao, Yi, Zhuang, Tibetan, Mongoul are ethnicities. in china along, there are 56 different ethnic groups. I'm Han, and I can easily tell you if a person is tibetan, mongoul, or yi... because i lived in an area of china where many ethnicities co-exists. we dress differently, we spoke different dialect or language, we look differently physically. it's even easier for me to tell if a person is japenese or korean or chinese or vietnamese...

my point is, when you are white, it's easy to identify physical differences in whites; but it's much harder to differentiate between members of an unfamiliar race
